Renowned strategic leader joins Resolute’s elite team

Myles Mendoza, former President of Empower Illinois, has been named an Executive Vice President at Resolute Public Affairs.

“Myles is uniquely skilled at developing bi-partisan coalitions on controversial and complex issues of the day including education, workforce development, healthcare, and human services,” said Greg Goldner, Founder and Managing Partner of Resolute Public Affairs. “He has worked with policy makers, CEOs, and philanthropists to establish multiple organizations and initiatives from the ground up. I know Resolute’s clients will benefit greatly from his strategic insight and experience and help drive our continued growth.”

Myles comes to Resolute after serving as President of Empower Illinois, a 501c3 organization that advocates for policy that leads to a high-quality, student-centered education system for children from low-income and working-class families. In the seven years he served as the organization’s leader, they passed a tax credit for teachers’ out-of pocket-expenses, and for annual donations to K-12 scholarship granting organizations supporting low-income children. Since 2018, he and his team were able to raise over $100M for low-income, Illinois students to attend independent K-12 schools.

Prior to serving at Empower Illinois, Myles worked with an Aspen-based philanthropist for whom he created edXchange, an education shared space which fosters strategic collaboration, ideation, and joint ventures among the five foremost education policy organizations in Colorado.

Myles’ additional professional experience includes serving as a Senior Partner for Democrats for Education Reform where he helped expand their offices to a dozen state chapters throughout the country. He was also previously Development Director for the Denver Scholarship Foundation. There, Myles worked with Governor John Hickenlooper and Senator Michael Bennet, raising $62M in college scholarships for low-income students in Denver Public Schools.

“There has never been more urgency to create bipartisan, pro-growth solutions for the country’s top priorities and I’m honored to work with Resolute Public Affairs colleagues to address society’s most vexing issues” said Myles Mendoza.
