Ximena N. Beltran Quan Kiu is a leading strategic communications professional specializing in brand reputation, storytelling, crisis communication, community building and people management. Born in Mexico City, Ximena is a Mexican-Chinese immigrant who is bicultural and fluent in Spanish.

Prior to joining Resolute, Ximena worked on McDonald’s Brand Trust Communication Team leading the national campaign for the recently launched 1 in 8 initiative, which celebrates the deep bench of talent at the Golden Arches.

Before McDonald’s, Ximena was director of digital strategy for Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot and the City of Chicago, focusing on COVID relief and economic development. She was a member of the Mayor’s 18-person senior staff, leading digital strategy for the mayor, city and its 30+ sister agencies.

Ximena’s national and international brand work make her a highly sought after communication consultant leading teams under immense pressure and tight deadlines. During the first year of the pandemic Ximena worked on the Democratic National Convention as director of special projects for the Office of Public Engagement, deputy director of Spanish/Latino media for the Biden-Harris 2020 Presidential campaign and then on the Biden-Harris transition team overseeing the nomination process for the National Security and Foreign Policy cabinet nominees.

With a digital-first approach, Ximena’s communication campaigns have produced viral results multiple times. She founded C1 Revolution, a communications consultancy, in 2014. Her clients included Four Seasons Mexico City, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, the Poetry Foundation and Portillo’s. She spends her free time writing and has amassed more than 200 bylines in publications such as The New York Times, CNN, Harper’s Bazaar, Food & Wine and Forbes.

Ximena received her bachelor’s degree in communication and master’s degree in journalism, both from DePaul University in Chicago. She is a longtime Chicago resident who splits her time between her hometown and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
