Raul Alvillar, Former National DNC Political Director and Public Affairs Strategist, Joins Resolute

National political strategist Raul Alvillar and recent Biden/Harris 2020 Presidential Campaign State Director of New Mexico, joins Resolute Public Affairs as an Executive Vice President.

A native of New Mexico, Alvillar is the former Political Director the Democratic National Committee. In that role he collaborated with decision makers in the White House, Congress, Governors, and state houses all the way to the local level to disseminate Democratic priorities and goals.

Alvillar has had an expansive political career. After working for former President Barack Obama’s election campaign as a regional political director, he went on to serve in several roles for the administration including Associate Director of the White House’s Office of Public Engagement. In this role, he facilitated White House interactions with policy influencers so they could articulate the President’s message to mass audiences. As the interim LGBT Liaison, he helped manage the White House rollout of the repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.

He left the White House to serve at HUD as the Senior Advisor for Public Engagement Office where he advised senior officials regarding issues related to housing, Sustainable Communities, and Promise Zones. His responsibilities included engaging external partners and issues management for the Secretary, including specific high-profile issues, such as the $25 Billion Mortgage Settlement. He left this role to serve at the DNC. Before joining the Biden campaign, Alvillar worked as a public affairs consultant.
